Now...
What's next?

Historians and archeologists have been well known to twist the truth according to their sponsors's interests! That is simply not science. At best it is obscurantism.

It would be nice to see scientists of all disciplines freed from public funding. What would then become public knowledge? How fast would public well being and in which direction it would evolve?

Findings like the one west of Cuba would have triggered other research expeditions. But for now, we are as much in the dark as if nothing was ever found.

Scientists exist today because others around them take care of their well being, allowing them to invest much more of the larger free time they can dispose of in science than average people can do. Therefore, I state that every scientific discovery must belong to humanity, not just a man or a country!

"It is quite clear from this that Piri’s only source for the “western region” was a map he attributed to Columbus." That is NOT what Piris said but I see your bias is working overtime.

And since you are not a map expert, which puts you in the same boat as those you criticize, why should we take your word for it? Your ideas are mere opinion no greater than Hapgood's and your idea of scholarly study doesn't overrule Hapgood's.

"whilst ignoring others of the same age" Your problem is determing the amount of knowledge held by those other map makers was complete or not. In other words, they may not have had access to the same information and drew incomplete maps.

"is tedious to anyone, like me, with little or no interest or ability in maths." So since you are not an expert, it would be wise for you to withhold your criticism for you do not understand all the data.

"(whose status is often inflated to ‘professor’ through a misunderstanding of American usage of the term)." Your personal attack simply ruins everything you say and shows that you have no credibility or scholarly status.

It is clear that your agenda affects your view point and tells your readers that you are not objective but on a mission to distort what other people have done.

You may be correct about the Spear, as portrayed in the NT but there are just too many external references to Jesus for him to be a figment of someone's imagination. Read my book the Secret initiation of Jesus at Qumran, where the evidence is laid out. You might also find my 'A Clash of Steet' of interest, especially as what I predicted is actually starting to happen.

The reason that the Team has do do the digging without professional archaeological supervision is because the academic community has told people such as yourself, I assume that with all the criticism you are an accredited arcaeologist, that any participation at the site might damage your professional reputation.

It was not too many years ago that Dr. Osmanagic was called a fool for even suspecting that the site was real. Now those same people are criticising him for not performing a professional dig.

The site is real and if you want it done right, take a risk and get involved. That will also give you the opportunity to prove it is a hoax, but no one, such as yourself, wants to take a chance that they might be wrong.

As long as people keep giving lip service, without SCIENTIFIC evidence to back up their rhetoric, there will continue to be volunteer digging. By the way I do not know of a site that does not use volunteers to do the hard work. Where are the professionals to set up the grids on this site? They are sitting behind a computer making unverified comments.
